We won&#8217;t see it until the fall of 2021 when it will actually be a 2022 model.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We\u2019ll walk you through the 2021 model for Europe, which VW says will have the same design features and changes as the U.S. version. Rear window defrost and illuminated USB-C ports are also included. Every Tiguan trim level will have VW\u2019s Digital Cockpit, customizable by the driver. An eight-inch display is standard, and top trim levels receive a 10.25-inch display.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition to the Digital Cockpit, VW\u2019s latest infotainment system (MIB3) offers more personalization for the instrument panel and touchscreen display. class=\"wp-block-heading\">2022 VW Tiguan: Engine &amp; Powertrain <\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The 2022 VW Tiguan runs on a turbo four-cylinder TSI engine with direct injection and auto start\/stop. It incorporates VW\u2019s \u201cBudack cycle,\u201d a modification to the conventional four-stroke cycle. The optional system uses Adaptive Cruise Control (longitudinal guidance) and Lane Assist (lateral guidance), although it is not fully autonomous. With Travel Assist, drivers must still keep their hands on the steering wheel. Should a driver take their hands off the wheel, a \u201ctouch detection\u201d alert will prompt them to regain control.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Although it&#8217;s not a direct comparison, VW\u2019s Travel Assist sounds similar in functionality to Ford\u2019s Active Drive Assist and <a aria-label=\"Cadillac\u2019s Super Cruise (opens in a new tab)\" class=\"rank-math-link\" data-lasso-id=\"20523\" href=\"https:\/\/www.autovision-news.com\/data\/cadillac-super-cruise\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Cadillac\u2019s Super Cruise<\/a>.\u00a0One key difference is that VW\u2019s system does not allow hands-free operation of the vehicle like Active Drive Assist and Super Cruise.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>VW\u2019s latest version of Adaptive Cruise Control for top trims accounts for local speed limits, junctions, roundabouts, and other road signs.
